About Port Cost Optimization
Our vision
Enhanced efficiency through precise and instant calculation of cost impact.
The cost related to a vessel port call, is a consequence of operational decisions and the related agreements/tariffs. A sophisticated calculator and proper capturing of operational facts (SOF) and port tariffs/ agreements, would therefore enable a instant conversion of operational data to a presentation of port cost.
Fact based management support tools would lead to better decisions and improved efficiency.
Port Cost Optimizing (PCO)
Port Cost Optimizing compromises a powerful port cost calculator, a sophisticated toolbox for capturing of port tariffs and agreements, a convenient structure for capturing of operational information and various options for calculations of port scenarios.
The solution aims to simplify the work of stakeholders of the vessel operations, through an easy clarification of cost impact, trust among stakeholders through transparency and more confidence related to decisions to be taken.
To integrate with customers systems and business processes is a natural extension of our vision. The system architecture chosen has a web service functionality that enables integration with 3rd party systems.
The calculator is a proven solution and tested through operations.
The Port Cost Optimizing is owned by Sipeso AS. Sipeso AS is controlled by interest that are completely independent in relation to the value chains supported. Our ambitions are to secure transparency and to make sure the calculations are as correct as possible.
How does it work?
The tariffs are established through an adaptive process. After initial capturing of tariffs, the tariffs are tested through interaction with operations until stabilized and trusted of the users. There is a support team that will provide 24/7 assistance as well as doing regular updates of tariffs.
The functionality is quite straightforward: After searched the port (text or map), the user select a port / terminal. Then the user selects an appropriate sailing pattern/template. The sailing patter/template is presented in a Statement Of Fact (SOF) format and the user may adjust the information to match own requirements. After the adjustments, the user executes a Request for Calculation and the port cost is presented. The user can anytime go back to the SOF mode to make adjustments and then request a new calculation.
